    Positions which are filled for 2020-2021 are:

    • President: Pat Perkins, O’Brien Atkins
    • Immediate Past President: Kelley Simons, S&ME
    • Treasurer: Tony Murphy, Palacio Collaborative


    The Nominations and Elections Committee is seeking members who are in good standing and meet the position requirements to fill the following open board positions for the Research Triangle Chapter’s 2020-2021 year. Please submit the following information with each nomination:

    • Personal Data: Nominee’s name, title, company, phone and email.
    • Board Position for which you are nominating another or yourself.
    • Statement of Eligibility: Include nominee’s credentials and accolades within SMPS and their career.
    • Views and Special Interests: You may also include a statement outlining the nominee's views on current Chapter issues and special areas of interest.

     

    OPEN POSITIONS

    President-Elect (1) - To be eligible for this position, the nominee must be a regular member in good standing, or distinguished life member, and must have served on the Board of Directors for one year.

    • Preside over Chapter, Board of Directors, and/or Executive Committee meetings in the absence of the President.
    • Provide oversight to ensure Chapter actions and initiatives are in accordance with the strategic plan for growth.
    • Responsible for leading sponsorship sales for the Chapter.
    • Responsible for obtaining Holiday Social door prizes.
    • Attend monthly Board Meetings and regular SMPS Research Triangle Chapter events.
    • Other duties as may be assigned by the President or Board of Directors.


    The President-Elect holds office for a term of one year, with commitment to serve as President and Past President in the two years following.  



    Secretary (1) - To be eligible for this position, the nominee must be a regular member in good standing, or distinguished life member, and must have served on the Board of Directors for one year.  

    • Ensure that the meetings of membership, the Board of Directors, and/or Executive Committee are recorded in a timely fashion and maintained in the permanent record (mySMPS.org) of the Chapter.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
    • Attend monthly board meetings and regular SMPS Research Triangle Chapter events.


    The Secretary holds office for a term of one year.


    Director of Communications (1) - To be eligible for this position, the nominee must be a regular member in good standing, or distinguished life member, and must have served on a committee for one year.            

    • Preside over coordination and execution of all Chapter communications, including:
      • Social Media
      • Eblasts
      • Print Materials
      • Chapter Blog
    • Preside over coordination and execution of some StarChapter tasks, including:
      • Selected website content updates (examples: setting up sponsors’ logo page; revising Board of Directors’ page and the like.)
      • Job Postings
    • Preside over coordination and execution of program survey distribution.
    • Responsible for securing photography for program and social events.
    • Preside over regularly scheduled Communications Committee meetings.
    • Attend monthly board meetings and regular SMPS Research Triangle Chapter events.


    The Director of Communications holds the position for a term of one year.


    Director of Education (1) - To be eligible for this position, the nominee must be a regular member in good standing, or distinguished life member, and must have served on a committee for one year.  

    • Preside over strategy and development of all program topics and retain speaker(s) for the monthly programs and Coordinators’ Club programs. Specific tasks for the Education Committee include, but are not limited to, the following:
      • Identifying topics and securing the speakers for all regular monthly programs and Coordinators’ Clubs
      • Preparing program write up, speaker headshots, and designation of SMPS domains
      • Registering Speakers within StarChapter
      • Preparing CPSM credit form for each program and sending it to National for reporting purposes after the program.
      • Write thank you notes to Speakers
    • Preside over coordination and execution of CPSM Study Group.
    • Preside over regularly scheduled Education Committee meetings.
    • Attend monthly Board Meetings and regular SMPS Research Triangle Chapter events.
    • Prepare and send in the annual Education Report to National.


    The Director of Education holds the position for a term of one year.


    Director of Events (1) - To be eligible for this position, the nominee must be a regular member in good standing, or distinguished life member, and must have served on a committee for one year.             

    • Preside over the planning and execution of all Socials.
    • Set up the program on StarChapter which includes posting the program write up and speaker headshots, and opening registration.
    • Advise Communications Committee that the StarChapter program is live and ready to be publicized.
    • Preside over the coordination and execution of day-of-logistics for all regular and Coordinators’ Club programs. Tasks for day-of-logistics include, but are not limited to, the following:
      • Coordinate AV needs with venue
      • Coordinate PowerPoint and computer needs including a backup laptop
      • Catering
        • Dietary requests
      • Close Out StarChapter registration the Friday prior to program and send numbers to venue
      • Open walk-in registration in StarChapter
      • Set up banners and displays
    • Preside over regularly scheduled Events Committee meetings.
    • Attend monthly Board Meetings and regular SMPS Research Triangle Chapter events.


    The Director of Events holds the position for a term of one year.


    Director of Membership (1) - To be eligible for this position, the nominee must be a regular member in good standing, or distinguished life member, and must have served on a committee for one year.  

    • Preside over chapter recruiting and retention of members.
    • Preside over the coordination of welcome table set-up at programs/events, which includes:
      • Printing and assembly of nametags, including verification of dietary restrictions
      • Bringing attendee checklist
      • Manage walk-in registrations and updating StarChapter after the program to reflect those attended, no-shows and walk-ins.
    • Preside over the coordination and execution of the Members Connect program.
    • Welcome new members and send them new member packet and share their information with Board. 
    • Preside over the coordination and execution of the Buddy Program.
    • Preside over the coordination and execution of New Member / Member Spotlight / Members on the Move.
    • Preside over coordination and execution of Milestone Awards.
    • Preside over coordination and execution of Membership Drives.
    • Preside over coordination and execution of new member meetups (usually prior to a program 2x year.)
    • Preside over regularly scheduled Membership Committee meetings.
    • Attend monthly Board Meetings and regular SMPS Research Triangle Chapter events.


    The Director of Membership holds the position for a term of one year.


    Director at Large (1) - To be eligible for this position, the nominee must be a regular member in good standing or, distinguished life member, and must have served on a committee for one year.

    • Preside over coordination and execution of Mentor Program.
    • Perform duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
    • Serve on one committee as assigned at the beginning of the calendar year.
    • Edit, proofread to-be-published items as requested by committees. 
    • Attend monthly Board meetings and regular SMPS Research Triangle Chapter events.


    The Director at Large holds the position for a term of one year.
